Default Refilling plane gas tank?

I have a gas tank in my plane that the only way to refill the fuel is to take off the carb nitro line and use a hand pump. Instead of always pulling off the nitro line to the carb how do I put another line coming out of the gas tank? Thanks!

If you have access to the carb, just pulling the line is the most common and simplest way. However, if you want, you can go to a three line fuel tank setup. The third line would have a plug that you would remove to fill the tank. I attached a drawing to show what the tank would look like.

Hi Moe142,

Either a filler valve or fuel dots will solve this problem. However if you have easy access to the carb fuel line I would stick with your current method. It's the one I use unless the model has a cowl then I use a Dubro filler valve. Some prefer the dots as based on the KISS principle there is less to go wrong and no parts to loose.

Cheers,

Colin

You can use a fuel dot. This is a plug that goes into a third line on your fuel tank. This line usually has a clunk on it as well. If you are using a gasoline engine you can tee off the carb line with a fuel dot.
