Despite the always-present political opposition and conflict, I don't think anyone can try to deny a coming home celebration for a soldier to his or her family! I'm happy for you, spend some good time together!

Larry, I'm with you on this one. It's R/C related because you are going flying with him.

Have fun flying and enjoy the precious gift that a child is.

I can relate to your happiness. My Grandson is a Marine Sgt. and he has been back for some time now. Just sweating a return.
My best to you and yours.

To get away from my other personality, I would not wish how you feel when he's gone on my worst enemy. Remembering back when I was very young on active duty, I took it for granted that it was "no big deal for the parents." Now that I am where I 'm at, my boy is in his third year at the local university. I don't know which feeling may be worse, him moving away or all these kids overseas and their parents up all hours of the night.

Outlaw,
don't let anyone giving you any flap over your pride and happiness on the return of your boy cause you any concern. Your son earned the right to allow for you to do react as you did, and to cry out to all with joy . And strangely enough at the same time he helped insure that those who were critical of your actions may continue to enjoy the right to voice their opinions on your or anyone else's actions. Most of them have no choice but to be so bitter, because each morning they get up, go to the bathroom and first thing they see is their relfections in the mirror and that sourly image staring back at them sets their tone for the rest of the day. Bless them that scream, shout and run in circles, for they shall be known as Big Wheels...unknown sage.

Congratulations to yo and to your Son. And while I'm about it, Many Heartfelt thanks are in order to all who have ever left the safety of home and hearth to run to the sound of the guns. (Regardless of the branch of our military) It takes a special person to, "Lay everytinng on the line" for the rest of us. Here's to all the Sons and Daughters who are willing to make the supreme sacrifice.

Currently I'm in the sand box to. Last year I missed all of the flying season over here, this year I hope to be back around July-ish. First thing I'm doing is the same thing you guys are doing.

Wish you all luck!

RCOutlaw,
Tell your son HUAHHHHHH! from on old retired First Sergeant. I spent my time in the sand pile in 1991. Pound your chest and be proud, you have a right to be. I wish you and your entire family a joyous reunion with your son. My son is a fighter pilot in the USAF. I cherish every moment we spend together. Going by the date you first posted this he is now home, so I truly hope all is well.

"Keep 'Em Flying!"
