I use a long screw driver with a buggered tip and about 8 feet of parachute cord with loops in both ends. Parachute cord is STRONG and a long screw driver stuck in the ground takes a lot of shear force. Cost: about 50 cents. (The screw driver is discounted because the tip is bad.)

These are all tail traps which don't help when you are using an electric starter to start the engine. Would love to see some contraception to hold the plane from going back when pressure of the starter is applied on the spinner.....
We are in the in the final stages of testing one that will hold the plane in both directions, takes less than 30 seconds to setup, and will work from a .60 size plane to a 35%gasser. Price will come in around $150
