Default Crashed!!!!

I took the Futaba Acrostar out today for it's first test flight..... The dang motor reved up on my turn out and died. The plane is now bent at a 45, right in front of the wing. Fire wood I guess. It is strange the motor ran great on the ground, the prop was tight every thing was go.... But it reved up and died, Not a whole lot like maybe 100 rpms or so. Any ideas on why this happend.

Ps...

if you are the farmer who's field I landed in, sorry... I didn't mean to take out a 5 x 5 square of your crop.

Yea.... I wish I had another chance. I'll keep that in mind when or if I get another plane. Going to put lock tight on my trainer even though it works great. The exaust pipe wasn't the problem on the Acrostar... I can't get it out of my head, My plane banking right then nose diveing and plowing that field. I hope that my next plane lives at least for 2 or 3 minutes . I have plans for that 75 super tiger motor, It's next life is going to be a Boat motor. Kinda like a swamp buggy.

Hold onto the pplane for a week, th re-evaluate what it would take to rebuild the damaged areas. When you just get done with the crash is usually the worst time to consider if the plane is salvagable.

If the fuselage snapped at or just forward of the wing mount... its usually repairable. Even if the section of the fuselage the fuel tank goes in looks like toothpicks... there's always enough to lay out and cut replacement wood.

Did you refuel it after you tuned it on the ground?

Default lean

rc aro planes:
Seems as though the engine leaned out on take-off.
When you ran the engine on the ground did you hold the nose of the plane up at a 45 degree angle for several seconds to see if it leaned out?
It should run indefinately with the nose pointed up, if the needle is set for level flight the attitude of the plane will make it run lean.
Next time hold the plane at a 45 degree angle, nose pointed up and set needle slightly rich at this attitude.
Hope this helps.
