Default Sources for Airbrush & supplies...

I'm looking to buy a new airbrush, and I've decided on a Paasche VL. I think it's going to do exactly what I need, but where do you buy one?

Paasche's website has everything retail priced, so that's out. Ebay has a bunch of them for sale, but who knows what you'll get.

Has anybody bought an airbrush lately? Where'd you get it, and how much did you pay for it? Any recommendations?

Incidentally, I have the compressor already...regulator too.

Thanks for the help!

John

Default Paasche VL

I jsut bought one last Saturday. I purchased it from Pat Catan's, it a local craft store here in Pittsburgh. That and 6 bottles of actual aitrbruish paint were $75.05. I believe the airbrush was only $54.95 there. Comes with everything you need to get started other than the compressor.

Well, thanks for the reply, but I think heading out to PA might just negate the savings of not buying retail!

That's a good start for what to expect to pay. Thanks!

Anyone else?

Default Your Airbrush

Here it is. Delivered to your door with free shipping. If they have a presence in Kansas you'll have to pay sales tax though.

Try this one: www.dixieart.com. Click around to find the airbrush you want. Any purchase over $45 is shipped free. Got mine from there. Regards.

Personally, I like Bear Air (www.bearair.com) Fast service, great prices, lots of selection.

BTW - I think you will like the Passche VL. I got one for Christmas and start classes in two weeks. It came HIGHLY recommended as did Bear Air.

I don't know anything about airbrushes either, but compressors were always a limiting factor for me too. Does anyone know anything about the compressor advertised in the Harbor Freight Tools Catalog 740-P / Winter Catalog?

Central Pnematic
2 HP, @.64 Gallon
110PSI

It includes Regulator etc. The price is $79.99 Compared to what I have seen, this seems REAL CHEAP! Is this "too good to be true"?

Do i need something with other bells & whistles?

All opinions appreciated.

Thanks,
John

I've got that exact one. Works good. A little noisey, but other than that I have no complaints. Any of the tank compressors will be better than a diaphram compressor.

Harbor Freight, or as we call it, the China store, is the lowest price around. I use these in my business and get them for $60. That's with 3 size tips and 2 jars.
