Default CAD forays

I've been experimenting with TurboCAD, and thought I'd share some results. I haven't been flying for a few years (pers'nal reasons, y'know) - but that's about to change. I didn't use a micrometer to take measurements, I just used a ruler and guestimated. I figure the measurements should be close enough to design models to put them in. The subjects are an HP.61, a Norvel .061, and a Norvel .074.

Those look great. I have TurboCad 7 at home but havn't used it. I just got Solidworks at work and am learning it.

Maybe I'll give an engine a try.

Digital_Trucker,

Nice work! Do you do that for a living? I like to dabble in CAD too (as a hobby) but my results aren't nearly as impressive.

I don't do this for a living, as my handle implies, I'm a professional truck driver. This is strictly hobby for me. I haven't had any official training, just the learning materials that came with the software. I used to do some drafting using just a steel ruler and a pencil, so it's not TOTALLY foreign to me.

They look nice. I do some work with AutoCad 2005. But have not gotten to the solid 3D stage yet. How long did those drawings take?

I didn't really keep track of the time. It took me a while, though - false starts and whatnot. I sorta made it up as I went along

I think the 3D stuff is very cool. How long have you been doing CAD?

That .074 render was my first project, actually. The .061 was my second, and the HP .61 was my third.

What TurboCad version do you have? I have Deluxe V11 and have just started to tabble in it. I was trying to do some 3D solids but couldn't get it to work. I'm sure it has the capability just haven't been able to spend alot of time on it.
