Overpowerd, I Think Not
Hello All,
I hear alot about scale flight, overpowering planes and fast engines on slow planes. I wanted to share a pic of my current building project. It should have plenty of power being that the plane is .50 oz and it has a 2c .40 with an 18x10 prop. I will give flight report if I can ever get it to balance out. The fuel cell is towed behind the plane on a glider.

Get a real engine
I think I would have gone with a Jett .50 with a minipipe, 40 percent nitro and 9 1/2x12 carbon fiber pylon prop to let it reach optimum rpm.
Good start though!

Thanks for the good suggestions
You should use a YS 140, This is one with a pump, right, that might solve the fuel delivery problem with the fuel tank location.(4' benind the plane.) The suggestion of outriggers will certainly come in handy as the 18" prop and the 16" wingspan is sure to cause a torque problem. The tune pipe suggestion may also come in handy when looking for a place to hang weight towards the tail.(I was worried that the weight needed to balance it might break the fuse in half).
On a side note, I was thinking of of putting a warp in the wing since the plane will be spining instead of the prop. What Pitch warp do you think I need? It has a 2" cord.

The wing tape should allow some seriously high-G aerobatics, don't you think?
Your posts make me believe that I can put a G62 on a Herr Engineering plane.

you may not have noticed the "curve" in the rudder. That will cause turbulant vortex that will help hold on the wing when in a high G move. That Tape is no ordinary tape, It is super dooper, double sided, stickem tape. I have desided not to ballance the plane till after the 1st flight, this saves me mucho time on set up with all my planes. I am a little worried about ground clearence with the 18x10, I may have to install some sort of landing gear.
P.S. I was thinking of converting it to ele. I have an old washing machine motor. I just have to find some old car batterys.Pic's to follow.

Hmm now you've got me thinking. How could one put wings on an engine...Hmm...
As a kid I had a rocket engine with a nose cone, and fins glued to it. I guess it's kind of along the same lines. I never did fire that rocket though.

well--that depends after crashing a plane with a huge engine, while puting around the wing snaps off, and the manufacture blames the engine was to big---never asking if i used the full thing, but that company is a great company never the less
