Hi,
I have the Warbirds over the Rockies and the video is fantastic. This is completely different from any other RC video you have seen. I am sure the Top Gun is just as good or better. I have it on order and just got a reply to an email that they expect to be shipping no later than Dec. 6th.

It absolutely gets no better than Wild Berry Productions films.
The Top Gun Invitational and Electric Flight School are both spectacular films.
These aren't your fathers RC videos for sure.
I'd recommend the Tucson Aerobatic Shootout DVD also.

Placed a "pre-order" and I'm still waiting. Tried to call the office but got a answering machine. I like you guys, thought the two previous DVDs were terrific and can't wait to see TG. Joe

yeah, I wish they didn't dub in so much music. sometimes it's nice to just hear the engines. especially on the jet fly-bys.

Had my copy for about a week, agreed too much music I wanted to hear the jet fly bys and the radial. Maybe too much interviewing and not enuf flying, but that's just an opinion too. 2'nd disk behind the scenes stuff was pretty cool too.

These films are more documentary than they are event coverage.
That's like saying American Chopper has too much music. It would lose a lot of it's production value.
It's important to note that all the musical score was created for, and is proprietary to these films.
These films are definitely meant for the hardcore RC'er...but there's also meant to be some crossover value for the general public.
Some hardcore guys would prefer raw flight footage, but this is more about the experience of being at Top Gun than a recap of Top Gun 2006.
There are plenty of "video" guys doing those.
These are films that you can watch with non-RC friends...especially "Electric Flight School" :-)

I just watched the DVD again and like the footage, but "Custom soundtrack" or not, the movie is definately failing big on one issue. You can't hear the cool sounding turbines or radial engines in the flight footage. All you hear is crappy music. It seems to me that the movie was made by a non-rc person, and caters to people outside the hobby more that to actual pilots. So, you loos a lot of the wow effect you would have had combining HD video with the actual cool sound of the planes.

But, overall the DVD is good and definately worth watching. It gives a good bbackground on Top Gun. But, I can't give it two thumbs up.

I have received the new Propwash video production of Top Gun as well as the Wild Berry production and enjoyed both. They are clearly for different audiences. While the Wild Berry DVD seems to target the unintiated or newcomer, the Propwash DVD is for the die hard scale modeler. Propwash continues the format that has been very successful for them, detail shots, informative interviews with builders and pilots, and a lot of flying footage with actual engine sounds. I'll be sharing the Wild Berry DVD with nonhobbiest friends; however, the Propwash DVD is what I will watch the most. Werner has been at it a long time and has the most successful format to keep the modeler coming back for more. You can't lose acquiring both!!

The Top Gun Invitational DVD is great. The footage overall is above all expectations. I also have Warbirds Over the Rockies and that also is a wonderful DVD to watch.
