I have one more suggestion for an addition to it. Could we possibly get something on it that automatically lets us know if we've got PM's?

Greetings,

On this page:

http://groups.google.com/groups?q=Cl...ax.com&rnum=11

The author speaks about this error. The error is not related to the toolbar but rather the scripting object in IE. Apparently, users that had IE 5.5 and upgraded to IE 6.0 have problems with the WSH. Windows Scripting Object. Our toolbar uses this object.

The reccomended download/fix is here for Windows 2000:

1). http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...S/scripten.exe

The reccomended download/fix is here for Windows Win 98, Me, NT 4.0 :

2). http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...US/scr56en.exe

I think #2 applies to XP. Can you try one or the other and see if this helps? Then please report which file fixed the error. This would be of great assistance.

Regardless, we will get to teh bottom of this. Lastly, I have also heard that the latest XP service pak is problematic. The the above files(s) do not work, could you roll back the XP sp?

I will watch for your post.

I'm not much for tool bars at all. All I use is "search, back, addy box, and go".

I'll download and install on my game machine just to help with testing.

Dual xeon 2.4, all scsi cdrom and scsi raid 1-0 36 gb HD's, 9700 pro, audigy.

Post back in a few to report.

Forgot to add

W2K pro, IE 6 with all updates.

Installed fine in about 90 seconds complete. Works fine with no apparent problems.

I'm not totally sure on this one but check to make sure your browser is set to accept cookies. The toolbar cannot install if cookies are not enabled or if the toolbar is locked. We do have a routine to check if the toolbar is locked and if so to unlock it, install and relock for you but just to be on the safe side best to unlock it before the install (View->Toolbars->Lock the toolbars)

For cookies go to the Privacy setting under "Internet Options" (which is in the tools menu) and then click advanced and tell it to accept cookies if it is not already that way.

Just an FYI..most people think cookies are these mysterious things. In contrast they are simple. They allow a website to make a setting so as you travel through their site the server still knows it's you so each page is customized. In other words without a cookie you would never be logged in since every web page you receive is an independent process. Servers only can read the cookies they set themselves which is a security measure. To ensure your browser is always up to date you should do a Windows Update every couple weeks or more. (Tools-->Windows Update)

See attached image and make sure cookies are not blocked.

Also, if anyone has a failed install from work, this is usually a permissions related error and in order to get SAetup to run you must have an admin allow for this bar to install.

Also, if this does not work, please close all browser windows and delete this directory:

c:\windows\ctb

and the try the install again.

These errors sometimes are a result of people hitting browser buttons during the install.

OK, I had a bad install. I had to delete c:\windows\ctb folder

(ctb = custom tool bar)

After that it installed with no problem.

Thank goodness for programs like filemon to help troubleshoot problems such as this..

I was working on the system and adding some code so the store would have a secure certificate...there was little bit of time where things had to "changeover". All should have resolved and been back to normal within 15 minutes...let me know if there are any other problems.
