Ok Guys,
I am a realitive newbie (1 1/4 years flying) , but after being married to my wife for 27 years you would think I would know all of her tricks. I am currently rebuilding a throughly crashed Ag Wagon. My first mistake was to "ask" (1st mistake) for a spare bedroom as a building room. Nobody has slept in this room for 2 years. She said no you can use the kitchen bar to build on so that way you will be close to the family. (2nd mistake) Now that the CA and the epoxy has made it's marks.
"You know honey we really need new counter tops"
So now I have to listen about the counter tops and still do not
have a building room.
(Getting a new wife is not a option, can't get rid of her she buys me new planes, two last year)
By the way I get excited about the strangest things, when you mixing epoxy use these new Zip Lock tuperware things. Let the old epoxy dry out and just flex them slick and clean ready for a new round.
Opinions welcome

Looks like she has you on a short leash. Why not get another TV and a Lazyboy for the spare bedroom and invite her to "please keep me company" while you work on your airplane. Or buy another house with a bigggggg family room. How about that??

Don't think I can help you... I've been married for almost thirty years and the wife just asks that I keep my stuff out in the shop.
Of course, having an at home Archery Pro Shop for twenty years helped... the fumes from the glues and arrow cresting paints can get pretty heavy!
I'm afraid you didn't start training her early enough, my friend. G62

Heres a wild thought; Get yourself a video camera (with mic) and set that up in the 2nd bedroom, connect it thru the tv.
That way she will be able to see and hear you while your off building.

Yeah, its a good idea to keep the shop stuff, fumes, balsa dust, fiberglass, carbon filament and stuff out of the family living space. Family members can be allergic to CA fumes and dust. If you can't, take up watercolor painting. Family comes first.

This is what I do.....
Get a door core from Home Depot for about $30 and glue ceiling tile on top of it, t-pins stick in great! Then get a pair of those plastic fold-up saw horses ($30) and now you have a modular work bench! I use it in my spare room and makes for easy clean up, room can still be used if need be!
Good luck,
Justin

If you have to use the counter, go get yourself some poster board at target or walmart. Tape it together so it folds, you have to use the tape on opposite sides every other seam so it folds. Then you won't get glue on those new counter tops you are going to install.

My wife was getting upset about me spending alot of time in the shop. Her hobby is plants, so I built her a plant bench in the shop and now we spend time more time together. Problem solved!

Yep, she played you like a rag doll Hooter. "Honey, since we are getting new counter tops we may as well get new cabinets to go under them".
Kitbasher, how do you have that yellow barn supported? It almost looks as though it's on runners.
