But most of all in order to sustain EP planes we need to work much harder, thus we need to rape and plunder the Earth even more so we can feed that hobby of ours.
I think you are coming around tIANci!!

Hmmm....I thought the Dark Side was Heli's

Technically, I think the Dark Side refers to anything other than Glow powered planes or Turbine powered jets.

I thought that the Turbines were the VERY DARK SIDE. As in the very dark side of the moon. As I'll be able to travel there before I would spend that much money on a model plane!

You ARE part of the problem!!!! Electrics and Heli's are the DARK side. Don't go there as nothing good can come from it.

Ok here is the slip. I fly mainly glo i have one electric and a power assisted glider. I love glo because it gets you more than just plug and go. you actually have to think makeing it less likely to slice your fingers off. my assisted glider i like because it takes skill to keep a plane in the air with no power ( My rig can't restart once i shut it down) such as thermaling a big 2 meter sail plane. My electric is a stryker 27c lithium power. It's fun and fast but i fly it the least, since it takes over an hour to charge the battery and additional batteries are in the 70$ range. All in all glo gas or diesle rock, gliders are sedate and relaxing, and lipo scares me everytime i charge or use it and electric isn't all as convienent as it's leed up to be. I would suggest that if you want a park flier and noise isn't an issue, try you hand at a .049 or .061 size scale plane. Would be cheaper and more fun.

Oh yeah away from serious and to feed the monster you have created

Okay, truth be told I owned a flashlight with wings.

E-Flite P-47: foamie, major POS. (Killed) The E-Flite P-47 tore off its landing gear the first time it took off from a dirt runway. Next, it landed in a bush and exploded. I threw it in the trash.

As for flashlights with wings, I speak the truth.

Do you remember these?

Oh man, I thought every kid had one of these at one time!

It is a sort of u-control. You put flashlight (D-cell) batteries in the flashlight looking holder and it has an electric motor in it. The cable is attached to the airplane and it turns the prop. So when you push the switch, the prop spins and you fly the airplane around in a circle.

Oh man, this is funny. Don't buy any carbon credits. Just use use less and do with less so those than can afford to buy all the credits can continue using and wasting more. If I recall correctly, the CEO of the English company that started this carbon credit crap is a democratic presidential wannabe that lost an election or two back. He also owns LOTS of oil stock. Makes ya wonder a little. He also claimed to have invented the internet.

In any case, electrics are fun. I flew gliders and glow for many years and switched to gas some years back. The small electrics are great for back yard flying. If it wasn't for small electrics I would have never considered going to the REAL dark side and tried helis. Now I have two of the little beasties Li-polys or li manganese are the two best battery choices for max performance. If you're going to spend the extra dough to fly electric you might as well dump the entire wallet and get the good batteries.

BTW, DS soaring has exceeded 301mph already. The new target is 400mph! Sooner or later someone is gonna get killed with their own plane though. A 30lb glider at 300 plus hitting you on the uplsope "kick" will be final the first time.

As far as the enviornment is concerned I figure I have somewhere between 25 and 35 years left on this planet. When the end comes I'll assist the carbon conversion process all over again. I'll give back then, so in the meantime it's business as usual for me, since what happens after I re-convert don't mean nuthin' to me Now, let the Greenies roar[8D]
