How Much Engine- 1/4 Dr1 Triplane
I haven't had direct experience with it but I've been following quite a few threads on the BUSA quarter scale WWI planes as I'm interested in having one some day. From what I've seen in these threads, the G-23 is a good match. BUSA also recommends it.

Several years ago I saw a 1/4 Dr 1 at our fly in. I dont know what kit it was , but it was OS1.20 powered.
it flew it ok but those three wings make for plenty of drag. I would put the Saito 1.80 on it. A glow 1.80 will make
a lot more power than a gas1.80. The gas will be cheaper to run, but power to weight ratio will be better with

Depends on how heavy the plane comes out when you're done...
At 10 lbs, a .91(4-stroke on all engine sizes) would fly it OK, a 1.20 would let you torque-roll it. At 13 to 15 lbs, you'd need the 1.20 to fly... and most current modelers would want the 1.80. If you hit 20 lbs.. you won't be happy with the plane no matter what engine you stick on it, because you'll be in the range where the engine torque (of the required engine) will make the plane nearly uncontrollable on the ground.
The Dr1 is a tricky critter on the ground... make your scale wing skids functional, you'll use them. If you have ANY problems with torque-turning when handling any other taildragger... you aren't ready for a Dr1.
