Default Video:RC Heli and Airplane Flying from 1987

I was going through a drawer of old video tapes at my dad's house this week and found something kinda fun. It's a tape shot in 1987 of some friends and I flying.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6m_mps1PQU

First up is Bill Bowen flying a Hirobo Shuttle followed by a CAP 21

Last up is me flying a 40 size telemaster with an OS 61 four stroke.
I still have the the Telemaster. If I can find a way to get it home I'll get it flying again.

The stick on the table is also a plane of mine that I've been rebuilding over the last month.

That's cool- I love seeing the old stuff. Thanks for putting that up on yt. That's kinda when clubs, glow power, etc were in their prime. Is that flying field still around, or is it all developed now?

That field is gone.. the land was leased from the utility district
The city came in and put in a school right on the north end of the runway.
the new baseball fields took 100' off the runway and put backstops right on the approach line

We could still fly but not during school hours, or when a baseball game was on..

several planes were lost to the backstops.. The club built a new field in 94 and closed this one in 99

Just an update to an old post.. (yeah it's a slow day at work)

Both the Sweet Stick and the Telemaster in the video are back in flying condition today with the same motors they flew with in 1987.

I flew em both this weekend.. COLD but fun.. When we hit the field at 8am it was 24° on Sunday.
