Let's see some pics of your field, l'm interested in different
field layouts and ideas for improvements to our field.
In particular safety, fencing, pit areas, also unique ideas.
Comments about anything you think works well or improvements
that made a difference would be helpful.
Thanx

This is our new field in Olcott, NY. It is very large and mostly unused by the Lake Ontario Flyers. I recently opened a hobby shop about an 1/8 mile away, which should make it very convenient for everyone.

one more pic.

This one is a little outdated. All the blue temporary buildings have since been removed, as has the red-roofed shelter at the right end of the runway.

Wow guys nice fields but where are all the tree's? You are all very lucky to have such wide open places to fly, at our field we have about 75'x400' lined with tree's on one side and one end and behind the pitts is another line of trees and a gravel pit, it's like flying in a tunnel and there are guys from other clubs that won't even fly with us. The only good thing is if you learn to fly at our field you can fly anyplace, at least that's what we have been told and it has taught everyone to be engine gooru's because you only get one flameout per plane. At least we have a place to fly so we deal with it. I will get some pics and try to get them up.

rockmon ,

I used to fly at a field that was completely ringed with trees. Like you said flame outs could wreak havoc on a plane.

It is true, if you fly at a field like this, you become very good...................very good at hitting trees, that is.

Also very good at climbing them. It is kind of funny how you get used to those darn tree's and it kind of feels strange when you fly out in the open again. This time of the year our field is any lake you can get to easily, that's about the only good thing about this time of the year though, besides the building time that is take care.
