Yes, this is great news!
Goldberg has some of the most outstanding planes on the market, but their corporation has had some big problems since the take-over.
Now that they are under the Great Planes distribution, I can't wait to see the results!

Maybe now I'll be able to get a new canopy for my Tiger 60 for less than $40, if T-H and other Hobbico distributors start carrying Goldberg parts in addition to their kits/ARFs!

I have been talking with one of the big-wigs at hobbico and they are talking good things.

I would like to see a .40 size P-40 (does not have to be to scale). The lanier kits should include the hardware. I've been looking at the pitts, but don't like to buy the extra hardware when I think it should come with the kit. The chimpmunk kit-change the landing gear mounts to hardwood blocks and make it easier to install retracts.

I built two Goldberg Extra 300 kits over the years and those were some of the sweetest flying planes I ever owned. Dave Patrick hit a home run with this design. I'd love to see it updated with current kit cutting technology.

RE: Hobbico does it again!
The first "larger" plane I ever built was the Goldberg C/L Shoestring with a McCoy .35 and silkspan/dope finish. I crashed and rebuilt that plane several times and destroyed the McCoy pounding it into the pavement learning outside loops. Must have built a dozen or more VooDoo's.

Another "golden oldie" -- a Veco Renegade...
I just got done rebuilding mine a couple of days ago. It was over 25 years old, but the bellcrank pivot had rusted solid and the misic wire leadouts were rusted up real bad. It hadn't been flown in quite a while. Did a bit of surgery on the sheeting to open up the bellcrank area, freed it up, put some new stainless cable leadouts in, recovered it, and now its good to go again.
Veco had some nice kits too. Among other things, I got an old Bob Palmer Thunderbird under construction now. Even today, the old Thunderbird would be a fairly competitive stunt rig. My kit wasn't made out of ironwood, so it probably has a pretty good chance of being a good flyer.
[link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6220678/tm.htm]Here's a construction thread on an old 67' or maybe 68' vintage Jack Sheeks Spitfire stunter[/link] I've got in the works (from an ancient FM plan I had on the shelf). This one is totally "old school". Real silk and dope, a lot of ambroid, and its going to have sewn hinges and a hand made uniflow tank.
