Mice!
Well, I pulled an old bipe out of the line to get 'er ready for the season, and I noticed the tailwheel was very ragged. Upon inspection I see that it had been chewed!
I go back to inspect the whole fleet, and sure enough, all the tailwheels are chewed up!
Grrrrrrr!

My workshop is in the corner of my utility room. I only have room for a fold up table. I stored a gp stick fuse under my table. I got the stick fuse out to do some repairs. When I pulled out the plane there was a shower of something. It felt like the plane had gained 3lbs. On futher inspection I found out it was SUNFLOWER SEEDS!! So enterpriseing rodent had raided the birdfood supply and made a GRAINERY of my AIRPLANE!!

The male moths are in the basement, working on their hobbies, or at the computor looking at their favorite moth website or message boards, but don't tell their spouse , as this will lead to housework or more imprtant duties..

Choose your solution carefully. Naptha (mothballs) is an extremely volatile hydrocarbon. The vapors affect adhesives and paints. Cats onthe other hand......well if you think mice have no respect for radiomodels.........wait 'till you see what a cat can do.

I use old fashioned mouse traps baited with
summer sausage. I had mice in my garage this fall/
winter and had the same problem, except that they
liked to chew on the foam rubber on a rx battery
pack that I had on trickle charge laying out in
the open on a shelf. The mouse traps worked fine.
The mice are gone. I still keep the traps loaded
in case more mice find their way into the garage.

THE TROUBLE WITH CATS ARE THAT WHEN THEY GET THE MOUSE IT WILL BE FOUND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FLOOR AS IT PLAYS WITH IT THEN JUST LEAVES IT AFTER IT DIES. I HAVE BROWN WOOD SPIDERS HERE AND I ALWAYS HAVE TO LOOK IN MY OLD STOCK PILE, NOW THAT CAN BE A REAL PROBLEM..

I've got two Jack Russel Terriers and the mice don't stand a chance around here, I just say the word mouse and thier ears fly up and they begin the hunt. No problem with them sharpening claws on my models, they are housebroken and for some reason like to bury the mice when they kill them.
