I have seen gliders being piggybacked up to altitude by trainers or other aircraft,is there a kit on the market of a glider holder or are there any plans in magazines?

Attach it with a string with some sort of servo or actuator to detach it. tow line like real planes. Giant Rubber Bands are useful for doing it =) Medical tubing does WONDERS.

We made a couple cradles attached to a base plate of PVC. The cradles are 2mm coroplast with a foam center. The unit simply lays on top of the fuselage under the wing (no aircraft modification at all). Behind the front cradle is a servo that plugs into a fifth channel. The servo just operates a piece of pushrod that goes through the cradle to the front. Just strap the glider on to the cradle with a rubberband on the piece of pushrod. Hit the switch...the rod pulls into the cradle...off goes the band, and away flies the glider. Works like a charm!!!
