We're in the home stretch!

TopGan Helicopters was present with their large selection of electric RC helicopters. Their product line ranged from easy to fly beginner models to those fully capable of advanced aerobatics and 3D.

Dumas was also here with a sampling of their boat and airplane kit line. Dumas boats have long been a favorite of the RC boat building crowd. Their boats require a bit of work to complete, but are very well designed and look simply stunning when complete. Dumas also manufacturers a line of laser cut airplane kits. They offer both rubber powered models and several designed for small RC gear. However, ambitious modelers have taken to converting the rubber powered models to ultra lightweight RC with very good results.

Green Models USA with their growing line of RC ARF aircraft. Most of the models on display were available for sale as ARF's and the prices listed were great bargains.

Nine Eagles was right down the way with their line of micro RC helicopters. These RTF models are available in several configurations and body styles though all are noted to be easy to fly and smooth on the controls.

Last up we find DualSky. These guys were busy from the moment the show opened until it closed. This booth was the most difficult to get a picture of simply because they were so busy. It was not uncommon to find a line of modelers waiting their turn to talk about electric flight or purchase one of their brushless motors, ESC's, batteries or other accessories. This is a testament as to how popular their products are and how knowledgeable their staff is.

Closing out this years coverage there are a couple of things I noticed. Li-Po batteries and chargers are continuing to increase their presence in the hobby. Kit (non-ARF) airplanes continue to be more and more scarce while very reasonable ARF's from overseas were even more evident than in years past. Indoor demo's are very popular given the increase in area devoted to these activities and the crowds they attracted. And, RC robots are finally gaining wide spread popularity. Every booth in the show was sold out, but public turn out, while very good, seemed to be down very slightly from last year. Almost all vendors however said they had a good show with a lot of exposure to hobbyists.

If I missed something you wanted to see or have any questions, don't be afraid to ask. Myself and the rest of the RCU staff who were present have notes for nearly every area of the show.

Also be sure to keep an eye on this thread to find out when our at the show video interviews are posted. We will also have videos from the World Micro Heli Cup competition along with results from the contest.

Stay tuned!

Ken,
Look closely in the Hitec booth shot. Nathan, MinnFlyer and RCAdmin (well, his back at least) are captured candid camera style.

There are several new items from Team Losi in the second post. They were on display in the Horizon Hobby booth. Look for the 1/18th scale Raminator, 1/36nd scale Micro-Desert truck, track bags/cases and Xceleron brushless motors and ESC's. There was another model on display, but we were sworn not to post a picture or mention of it since licensing has not been finalized. Watch for a new product announcement in the next month or two.

I can see the video as well as hear the audio. Check your browser settings.

But some of the videos are mislabeled and the same video is shown under two different headings.
