A fellow named Matt Keennon built a SCALE P-47 that weighs 43 grams and has a 9" wingspan (1/32 scale). Electric motor W/3 channels. Flys at just under 40 mph. See the December '02 Model Avaition. Very, very impressive.

Henry Pasquet's little CO2 plane sits in his hand.

Default smallest RC plane?

Several years ago, there was an article in MAN about a small in-door flyer. It had a small electric motor from some type of medical appliance if I remember correctly. It ran on a watch battery. The control was a keyless entry remote. It seems that the total weight was just over a gram. It was so light that the modeler could extend the flight time simply by getting under it and blowing it to a higher altitude.

Do an internet search for "MAV" or "Micro Air Vehicle"

You find lots of these little buggers.

That looks fun, wonder if I can fly it in the living room? Better cover the big screen tv. Probably make a nice hole in the screen when I hit it.

A company in CA named Aerovironment has built some of the world's smallest MUAV's:

They are involved in many other "cutting-edge" technologies as well.

Default smallest RC plane?

We have flown <4.5 inch airplanes but thats about our limit with our current design/equipment

Just a few weekends ago we flew in competition a 5" plane for aprox 13 min without a camera and we have flown 4.5" plane with a wireless camera for about 7 min unfortunatly not in competition

In competition we flew last years design a 6"er 600m away to the target and almost aquired it if not for blurry camera (the plane was built at the feild in a really big hurry)
