Whats up with Tower and Lanier?
Anyone know if Tower/Hobbico is bringing back some of the Lanier Line?
I've noticed that some of the kits and ARF's that were listed as Discontinued are back in stock again
Lanier 31.5% Staudacher S-300 Single Kit .. back at $250
Lanier Husky ARF 106" back at $399
I thought both of these were marked as discontinued about 1 month ago..
The Giles 202 Kit is discontinued right now.. It'll be interesting to see if it comes back too.

My L.H.S. owner told me his supplier,Tower had bought out Lanier. I was able to purchase a Lanier DR VII for $50.00 I suspect all Lanier product will be sold at this rate till gone. Tower bought out Sig's Norvell line of planes I bought a "Glass Air 400" sailplane at half price I sure loved that one Tii I lost sight of it ONCE!!>[sm=49_49.gif]Lee Sherwood

It's not listed on the old Lanier RC site..
the only doc posted is a 1 page addendum copyright 2008
The 94" yak 54 ARF is still on sale for $399 and the 94" edge 540 ARF is discontinued.
Both of those were new planes right before the buyout and are on the Lanier site.
Stinger 120 and giant Stinger kits back in stock.

Tower Adjusted the prices again
Lanier 40% Staudacher S-600 120 Kit dropped $50 to $349
Lanier Cap 232 Kit dropped $20 to $109
Lanier Edge 540 ARF 94" 3 Part back from Discontinued and down $50 to $349 (Not limited quantities either)
Maybe they are returns.. don't know.. Maybe they found an extra pallet of Lanier stuff in a dusty corner of the warehouse.

Dang the Giant Stinger ARF is $219.00 less the $30.00 coupon, that's $189.00. The 94" Edge is $349.00 less the $30.00 that's $319.00. I bought the 94" YAK 2 weeks ago, damn at these prices, I feel stupid for not buying them...Looks like the 94" Extra is out os stock...
Tower's new prices on these are CRAZY...but I love it...!!!!

I think when Tower first started picking up the Lanier line, the planes weren't selling so good, so they dropped most of pricinig and are now trying to see what price will sell the products. That's my theory. The discontinued line are probably the planes that don't sell at all and they're just trying to get rid of them until they see the demand come back for them. That's probably why we're seeing some of them come back.
