Recieved my first full scale flight instruction today!
Yup, I took my first lesson today....
It was in a plane called a skyranger, it was a 2 place ultralight trainer..
I'm going for my ultralight license because at the end of the year that license qualifies you to take a test to recieve the soon to be released rating of sport pilot, where you can own and fly a 2 place aircraft and not have to deal with the vigorous and costly procedures of owning a fully registered aircraft..
For those of you all that have flown, any advice or reccomendations on a plane? I'm leaning towards a kitfox series 7 with a rotax 912.
The 912 is the same engine that was in the sky ranger and it had plenty of power, the only thing that was a little unsetteling was how much the wind bucked around the light plane..
Thats why I'm thinking of a kitfox thier a little heavier, and I have riden in several cubs and supercubs that didn't get tossed around as much because they are heavier..
On a side note, I got to experience some very tight/high banked turns and he even showed me a hammerhead.
Well Just thought I'd share my good news, and see what commenst/reccomendations you all had..
Attached is a picture of the Skyranger...

Cool! Flying is FUN! Please when your flying into the airports, announce your intentions!! Nothing is more annoying, besides being dangerous, than guys not saying a thing and flying through/into the pattern without making a single call..
Ill be flying tomorrow!
BTW, the pic is of Tulip fields in Skagit, WA two weeks ago...

Yeah at busy airports like this please make yourself known
This is my favorite on Vancouver Island; it makes many model fields look like O'Hare.

Looks like I get to be Mr. Popular again...
First off, congratulations on your experience! Seeing as this doesn't really tie in to RC, I'm going to close it. I'm certain that there are quite a few full-scale forums out there where you can discuss training and the various aircraft that can be flown with the new rating.
