Default Harry McMorris Giant Scale Fly-In Midland, NC

Hi folks,
I am getting a jump on this this year. Our Harry McMorris Giant Scale is going to be held on Oct. 24-26 this year. Please read below for details or email me at [email protected] Details are listed in the event section as well or visit our website at [link=http://www.charlotteaeromodelers.org]Charlotte Aeromodelers[/link]

Thanks

Come join us for three days of Giant Scale Good Times. We are opening up our field for a weekend of Giant Scale Flying. We kick it off with unnoficial flying on Friday and the the registration is on Saturday with flying going on all weekend. Bring your campers (no hookups) but plenty of parking. Come see one the best facilities in all of North Carolina. We have a T-shaped grass runway with over 500' of runway each way, coupled with a completely unobstructed flying area for miles of airspace. Landing fee is $10.00 for the whole weekend. BBQ Chicken lunch served on Saturday for $6.00 and a grill is available for cooking your other meals if needed. Giant Scale rules apply, 80 monowing or 60 Bi-Plane or True quarter scale. IMAA is NOT required to fly, just your AMA allows you to fly. Folks it gets even better. We have lined up almost $2000.00 in prize giveaways from local area sponsors and businesses, including giant scale ARF's, gas motors and flight equipment. Awards given for five best of categories. YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS IT. Finish off the year with a big bang.

I'll put in a plug for the fly-in also. It is a great field, good people. I've flown at Midland several times and always enjoy it.

WEATHER AND GAS UPDATE!!

Well guys, I have checked the weather for the Fly In coming up this weekend.

Looks like all three days are going to be in the mid to upper 60's. Perfect flying weather. Only a small chance of scattered showers 23-30% according to weather.com.

Gas is dropping steadily and is now below $3.00 a gallon out hear and there is plenty of it now. Should be close to $2.80 by the weekend if the current price drops continue.

Come on down and fly, fly, fly. The BBQ on Saturday will take your breath away and only $6.00 a plate.

NOT TO MENTION ALMOST $6000.00 in raffle prizes to giveaway.

SEE YA THERE!!!!!!!!!

It's too bad you couldn't get last weekend's weather!

I was going to try to make it down there and scare Gibson with a fast plane but work travel has made it important to stay near the hut this weekend...that and mamma got rid of the kids for the weekend[sm=tongue_smile.gif]
