Default Joe Nall History

Im doing an RC Club newsletter article on Joe Nall.
Can anyone direct me to a site where I can get the history
of the event? I tried JoeNall.com and the search engines,
but nothing useful came up...

Thanks in advance

Not exactly this way.

Confederate Air Farce, of Greenville, SC, started a giant scale meet in 1982.
It was held at Pat Hartness' estate in Greenville. The CD for the event was Pat's best friend, Joe Nall. Joe was killed in a plane crash in S.America and the Confederate Air Farce decided to name the event after him as a honor to his dedication to the hobby and to the event.

The event got worldwide recognition as one of the best and grew so much that both Pat Hartness' estate and the proximity of the local airport drove them to look for another place.

Back some 4 years ago, Pat purchased a huge property in Woodruf, SC and start building a state-of-art site, including a lake for float-fly, that is considered the best in the world, fully dedicated to radio-controlled model airplane.
The site was named Triple Tree Aerodrome and now hosts several first class events every year.

Those are planned for 2003

Joe Nall : the week after Mother's day, every year.

US F3A World Team Selection Trials: June 11-14

Youth Masters: For pilots 16 years old or younger. June 21

Triple Tree Aerotow - Summer: Giant Scale sailplanes - July 11-12

Triple Tree IMAC Classic: Giant scale aerobatic competition - Aug 9-10

Don Lowe Masters: aerobatic championship - Sept 16-20

Triple Tree Aerotow - Fall: Giant Scale sailplanes - October 10-12

Triple Tree Pattern Classic - aerobatics - Oct. 18-19.

Hope this helps.

If you still need more info l can get you in touch with Bob Sadler one of the Joe Nalls CD's. He also works at one of Mr Hartness companies. GREAT PEOPLE. Just the type leadership our hobby needs.
