Undelete a software that enables one to retrieve lost stuff, or Goback, but if the drive is dead, no gyro motion at all, your pretty much dead in the water, however, use to have a kid(geko) in m y PC class who zapped them with 12 volts, usually worked, then you could safely remove files.....anywho, Good Luck

There is no gyro in a hard disk...

There are two moving parts - the head is the thing that looks like a #11 knife blade. The platter also spins.
Delicate electronics usually don't appreciate being zapped with 12 volts [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]. Probably the platter motor was stuck and he was trying to get it going (still a bad idea if you don't know what you're doing).
