What ever bass. When ever you see any of my posts, just go right past it. I'm currently on hiatus from my job so I could keep you company. Regarding the crash at your feet, well, if he didn't yell out a warning if it was that close, he/she was a bone head for not doing so.

Jesus Jim, speaking of clogging up the air. where do you find the time. this is supposed to be a forum, not a book. I thought you had a busy job, where do you find the time to write these books.
if you want to complain. how about the time I was flying nitro and some electric crashed right at my feet.

Yeah, like that works rare_bear. When its affected me, I already do that. A lot of times you just can't ask people not to stand in the middle of the field and fly while others are flying, or don't fly over peoples heads etc. The only reason I brought up a VF member is that they may have more influence over asking a disrespectful pilot to stop putting others in harms way. Problem is that because its a city park, they can't really enforce the rules, but rather suggest them.

i was going to suggest that since jim is complainig so much, that he offer up some of his time to police the field for rule violations - instead of making the suggestion that some valley flyer member(s) police the field and confront rulebreakers like me.
nice pictures k3d. did that boeing 757 fly?

Who would have guessed that the most expensive planes in our sport would have the largest turn out for an event? or so it appears

no surprise really... those jet's are just simply awesome looking models, just as some of the giant scale warbirds are often well done and detailed. billy's warthog comes to mind, as does this sopwith camel i saw a few years back.

RE: Sepulveda Basin
Thanks jet time. I have never heard of that model. Do you know where I can get one? The only link I could find was this one:
http://www.centuryjet.com/webstore/m...TOKEN=22823881
Is this the one? There are not any specs or photos. Thanks

K3d,
Aviation Design has an F-117 that would make a good electric. I built 6 of them with DF and they fly great. Check them out.

I think I found it now. This one? http://pagesperso-orange.fr/aviationdesign/index2.htm
Yes that looks great. It is a little bigger than I was thinking. Also they have a banner that said it is discontinued. Oh well, the search continues. Thanks anyway.

RE: Sepulveda Basin
K3d,
I'll see what I can do to find one if you like. I used to be a dealer for Eric (the owner/designer). I can call or see If I can get anymore. They really are nice. A few years back we had 3 flying at Florida jets...it was a sight to see! I have always loved it as well. The stealth planes do something for me! I built an SR71 a few years back and campained that for a while until it was stolen...oh well, such as life!
Anyway, let me know if you want one.

RE: Sepulveda Basin
That one was built by an English guy, sorry I can't remember his name, but it was a Yellow kit with not much detail. Mine was scratch and 100% scale with every detail including the drouge chute and both canopy's that opened and locked remotely. Even a scale dash that lit up! It was one of a kind. It was used for Kelly Johnson's retirement party at the Metro Goldwyn theatre in L.A.!
Would love to find it.....

RE: Sepulveda Basin
Wow, are my eyes tired! I really gotta keep up with the thread now that it includes short (or not so short) stories! Jimweda, It's nice to see how passionate you are, but endless dialogue will ultimatley solve nothing and probably cause more harm than good by drawing lines in the sand. I agree with several others who posted that you should become a member of the Valley Fliers. The way to get things done, improved, changed, etc. is to voice your thoughts in the PROPER public forum, which is why the VF has regular meetings. While RCU is a great place to share our thoughts and feelings, it's not the place to cause a paradigm shift at the basin.
If you don't feel like the small $25 fee charged by VF is worth it, I welcome you to join a PRIVATE club in the area. It's only about $200 to join most clubs on average. Most of that is initiation and field assment fees, and dues work out to be $40-$60/yr. They are very controlling and will not allow a new member to have a key, or fly unattended unless their skills have been evaluated. Once the new member has demonstrated the ability to fly in a safe and controlled manner, you can expect a key to arrive in 2-4 weeks depending on how busy the club officers are. Oh and if there is an issue with rules violations, they can terminate membership with all due speed.
I'm also a VF member. Why bother you ask? No matter how great and controlled my club field may be, it's not the same caliber as the basin. It's the only world class facility in the area and would not attract so many high profile events if not for the efforts of the club that keeps it alive.
No more typing now.....

RE: Sepulveda Basin
The basin will never be beat. It is the place to fly! green grass and sunny skys! and it is FREE, no AMA needed. Great fellowship! LONG LIVE THE BASIN! It's the Valley Flyers that do the Improvements and put on the great events!
Edited to be nice.
