He was in Cleveland Sunday to help raise money for the Governer, they closed one of the major Freeways for a few hours,, People were pissed, Not to meantion how pissed they were that We all got to pay for it. I don't think he earned many Votes for Ted that day.

RE: Sepulveda Basin
So if I'm not flying something, I tend to not hold on to it. so here it is:
For sale: Great Planes Little Toni. brand new (built) with Hitec 475 servos. on everything but the elevator, which has a hitec 645 metal gear. it has an MPI three wire switch with a built in voltmeter, and charge plug. the plane has never been flown. it also comes with a supertigre .90 engine which has never been started. I have the manual for the plane and the engine is still in the box. the engine was mounted on the plane, I had broken it in and started it at the field but it blew a bearing. so they sent me a new engine. which is why this engine is still in the box. the plane also comes with an extra cowl. the fuse is fiberglass and the plane is built very clean with no glue marks. i used 30 min. epoxy on the wings. everything retails for $480.00 (not including the 6 volt battery which I will throw in). I will take $430.00. let me know if your interested. forgive the pictures. if your interested email me at [email protected] and we can setup a viewing.

RE: Sepulveda Basin
I have been out to the field 3 times this week and I'm hoping for 2 more before I have to go back to work.
It's been pretty good - a little windy on Sunday but it didn't stop me. Today was quite nice too. I'm hoping that Thursday morning will be good - supposed to be a front coming in tonight I think. Otherwise, Saturday and Sunday are a possibility.
For the first time I used the charging stations the club has setup and it was great - it charged up my 3300 mah 4S Habu battery. I can't seem to charge that from my wimpy 10amp 12v field box battery.

That Mustang isn't my airplane but I think I walked by when you may have been having that conversation with the guy if it was yesterday. I had my 2 year old with me. These pictures are from Saturday I think and that one of the Mustang my 6 year old took.
I don't know why the images are posting so large - that's never happened to me before and I always have my camera set on 6mp.
The first picture posts normally but then the rest post full size. If you click on them they do the normal zoom to screen size. It's strange.

The system makes thumbs normally, then yes opens to a viewable size,, Then if the file is larger you can open it even bigger (full size).
The problem is if you up load a huge picture file, the viewer still has to wait for the full pic file to download before they can view it,,
Those big files still slow things down, even with my Cable it can be slow sometimes

Here you go:
http://skyvector.com/?ll=34.20980555...art=114&zoom=3
FWIW the center of the runway at the Basin is 2.3 miles from the center of Van Nuys aiport and 1.6 miles to the end of the nearest runway. You are about 1,200 feet east of the extended centerline of the runway. The field is well and truly within the Class D airspace for VNY.

RE: Sepulveda Basin
Does anyone know when the Numb-Thumb is this year. My son andd I both love going out and watching.
BB - You might remember my son CJ and I. We are the ones that gave you the poppers that you use a few years ago with your Night Flyer about five years ago...I even posted pictures from that night.
Where is a schedule of events?

RE: Sepulveda Basin
The Numb Thumb is Saturday, February 5th. There will be a Fun Fly / swap meet on the 20th. Also, this Sunday, January 16th will be the Official Grand Opening of the improvements int he Electric Park Flyer area. There will the unvailing of the new charging stations and a BBQ. This is not an event that will interrupt normal public flying. The field will be open as usual. The weather should be great.
I see the website still needs to be updated. I'll look into it.

RE: Sepulveda Basin
I need a little bit of advice.
Has anyone purchased from Banana Hobby. Is this a good online company to buy from. I am thinking of getting their 6 CH BlitzRCWorks 2.4GHz Red Flight Trainer Master Pro 3D Aerobatic Radio Remote Control Electric RC Airplane RTF.
It is listed at $229.00 including the transmitter. Is this a good deal or not.
I do not want to make the same mistake as last time and get one of those Flyzone Park flyers.
Thank you for any input that you may have.
Chris
