I have a pretty good crash yesterday, I would loved to have taken a picture of it but didn't have a camera with me

So I wondering do you guys keep a camera in the flighbox?

If so, what is it? An expensive digi? Or a cheapo disposable just in case?

I have a new Minolta Dimage and probably should bring it along, but don't usually. I do bring it to fly-ins, and take with me when I visit other events. I am always tending to forget something anyway. Yesterday, I forgot to take anything to clean the plane with. I am just afraid I'll forget to take something home. Left my transmitter once, but a friend of mine had it taken care of even before I drove out of the entrance to our field.

I bring my digi every time, than any crash will be put on the web site that night, also if any interesting planes turn up, or things happen. It also does video which is hany for inflight vids, or recording from the ground, allows speed trials too

Default Camera

I carry my Sony digicam in my flight box, not so much for crashes, but for photos of acro planes to use in my column.

I don't keep one in my flight box, but grabbing my digital is part of my pre-field packing ritual...

Not really in my flightbox... But I do keep my Canon PowerShot S40 in my car at all times... I guess I should invest in an 12v charger for it...

I carry one of those el cheapo instant cameras in my flightbox all the time. It doesn't take digital pics, but at least I have something in case it get's interesting. If I end up with a good picture, I just scan the pic into the computer.
Better then nothing.

NO!

In our culture photos of airplanes before flight guarantee's their total destruction before the end of the day. Kahunas say "da kine box is no good throw in volcano! (we are out of virgins)

Our kahunas have not evaluated photos taken at the end of the flying day but as we say "why chanceum"

I usually take my digital, and when I remember I take the camcorder. There's not often something worth shooting, but when there is I hate to miss it!

I was thinking, if I brought along my camcorder, my digi camera, my SLR, my tripod and my photographer I'd have no room left for my planes and gear

Few years ago a friend of mine crashed his jet. It was a very, very dry summer. You can see the results.

This picture was on the Internet before, but it was taken by me.

Default another shot

Here is another shot of the same plane. A full size twin, no fuel, max fog, ZERO visibility, belly landing twenty yards from lake parallel to shore line. GOD was flying that plane.

Yes, those are full size cops also, four passengers on that plane, and zero injuries. Several pair of dirty shorts but no injuries.
