RE: She said Yes
That's great, way to go! All the best. One of the ultimate feelings in life for good reason.
Many of the guys on here, myself, and others that'll kid you, are divorced. All divorced guys remember how we felt and you have a chance to be successful.
Again, all the best!

A friend of mine once said "Marriage is a wonderful institution for some people, I was institutionalized once and didn't like it, but good luck". Good luck and many happy years!

RE: She said Yes
Just went to a comedy show the other week. Headline act was Tom Papa. When he got on the topic of marriage it went like this: "A woman goes into a marriage thinking like a princess (thanks to Barbie dolls and other girly toys). She usually expects a knight in shining armor, a picture perfect wedding and life in a castle as a princess or queen. Shortly after marriage the horrible truth sets in and she either deals with it or tries to find that same scenario in someone else. A guy goes into marriage thinking one thing and one thing only! "I get to get some every night!!". Shortly after marriage his version of the horrible truth sets in as well."
"The secret to marriage in the real world is simply this. If for one year prior to marriage both people can wake up EVERY morning and NOT feel like absolutely strangling the other with their bare hands....you're probably right for eachother. Take the plunge."
Needless to say, my wife and I were in stitches. We hadn't laughed that hard in a long time together.
Marriage is hard work at times and most definently a lesson in compromise. Usually, that's the man's job....compromising to her demands or wishes...LOL.
Congratulations JIMESTES. I hope that after a long time together with my wife, she'll be willing to renew our vowes. I'll just have to wait and see.
All the best.
