Bolt/YThread standards
Out of curosity has someone in the far east started a new set of standards for bolts ,nuts & threads?
I have 2 sets each of metric & ansi allen wrenches plus 2or 3 dozen that came with wheel collars & stuf
& today I had to grind an allen wrench by hand to fit a socket .that was different. Threads & hex sizes show the same thing. What gives anyone?

RE: Bolt/YThread standards
I usually find this with set screws, nothing fits them right. I've been taking wheel collars to the hardware store and findin bolts that fit the threads. keep and mark the allen wrench it'll probably work again.

RE: Bolt/YThread standards
My guess is that it's simply poor quality control of something that is supposed to be a standard size. I doubt that a model accessory company has contracted with a hardware producing company to design and produce a new thread/socket head size. That would be absurdly costly and to what point?
