Default ONLY ONE PLANE TO FLY

If you could only have one plane to fly...

what would you want it to be?

And what engine?

Regards

Any plane I've got is for sale, except my Meister Corsair. It uses a G62.

Scar, The meister corsair is on my short build list. I got the engine and will be getting the plans, cowl and canopy fairly soon. What retracts did you use? And how do you like the corsair overall. I'm looking for an everyday flyer.

gboulton,

Great Edge! How do you like the DLE111? I'm thinking of ordering one for a 100" Chinese Extra that's in my basement...

Edwin,

My Corsair is good in wind, a floater on most days. I dislike the wing mounting, but it works. As built, the wing has too much positive incidence - so the plane flies tail-high. I'd change that.

The Robart retracts are fine, but the mounts must be reinforced with fiberglas or the units will tear out on a bad landing. With reinforcement, they've been very forgiving.

I like the magneto ignition, but had to add tail weight. Maybe an electronic ignition would allow you to forego tail weights.

Good luck,

Thanks! I'm something of an obsessive RBAR nut, so it's fun having one in that scheme.

So far, I LOVE the 111. Only have about a gallon though it to date, so obviously not a lot of experience yet. However, it was turning a 27B prop at 6500+ out of the box, yanks that 25lb Edge around like a toy, and has been getting better and better with every tank!

Scar, Sounds like a good everyday plane. I bought a Zenoah GT-80. I want something I can do screaming low passing over the runway.
