Is it just me? Or is really impossible to build these things without smoking? I must stop smoking. So, I don't think I will be able to build for a month or two. When I build, I want to stop and smoke. I can't figure out how to build anything without a cigarette!

For me it's barbecue chicken. I can't build without having a plate of barbecue chicken next to me. Tried ribs but that didn't work, only chicken (with lots of sauce). Especially when I'm sanding.

Burn up more that I get to puff on...

I know it's a nasty habit...BUT, Jack Black, MBlights, and balsa dust just seem to go together..

I have to have a snack of some kind sitting in a bowl in the middle of the table. Glue a piece, get a snack, cut a piece, get a snack . . . just hope I don't glue snacks all of my planes . .

I got back into the hobby in '88 because I was trying to quit smoking. I thought I'd replace smoking with building.

Not only didn't it work, but I think I smoke more now.

i used to smoke MBlights in the box,but,had to go to the 100's,i'd light one,hang it out the side of my mouth,by the time i thought to take a draw,it would be gone and i would burn my lip! with the 100's longer filter,i don't get burnt. just can't figure out where all these ashes and burn holes in my covering come from????

I do most of my building in the evenings, and my vice is beer. Oh, and cigarettes...oh, and Doritos.

Yep, beer, cigs, and fattening tortilla chips...just what a builder needs.

I here ya!!!!! I have a bunch hand rolled cigars made with Cuban tobacco from S. America that I take down to the shop, can't have them in the house. If I don't want one of those it's marlboro lights and a lot of good music!!!!

I start off with an appetizer of Foster's lager.

Then the main course fine dining with Pringle's.

And some Foster's lager.

I then relax with a fine Swisher Sweet Perfecto cigar.

And some Foster's lager.

Then for desert some Foster's lager.

By then I'm having my night cap at three a.m.

I second the music & beverages. (or third it or whatever). Gotta have the radio going. As for the drinks, sometimes it's Coke, sometimes it's beer.

For me it's Nascar, nothing like a good race while building, and it's always a challenge to build a plane between the green flag and the checker flag ...it's easy when they are at Bristle...Michigan is a little tougher...

Coffee and Scoal help, I'll have a smoke once the plane is on charge

You're still trying to obtain oral gratification. This is due perhaps to having been weaned too soon as a baby, or it could be that you just like to smoke. Well, whichever is the case I agree with you in that you should quit. You could buy a new plane, complete with engine and radio each month with the savings. Or better yet, buy me a new plane each month.

Also have the surround sound wired into the shop for the tunes.

A tot or two is also nice during those cold winter nights while building in the shop. Is more fun to share a tot when another builder comes over.

I also enjoy a plug a Redman while building, comes in handy while wet sanding.
