I always read about Swap meets but have never heard of any in the DC/MD/VA area. I dont belong to an official club so that might be one reason. Does anyone know of any in this region?

Not really a swap meet, but NVRC hosts an auction twice a year. There is always a ton of stuff there and many good deals. You can also take stuff to sell. Instead of a reserve price, they let you shill bid (bid on your own item) to get it to the price you want. However, if you win your own auction, you still owe a fee for putting it up. I picked up a completely RTF Super Aeromaster, 61FX, servos, Futaba 127DF RX for $200 last fall.

You may want to attend the Lebanon PA swap meet held each year. It takes me about 3 hours from lower Delaware, but you may be able to get there faster with the high speed roads that head north out of Maryland.

There used to be a great little meet at the Timonium Fair Grounds, but I do not think they hold it anylonger.

I think the ARF market has hurt the "stick" bulider in regards to selling used stuff. Givent he availability of inexpensive well built ARF's one does not HAVE to purchase somone elses airplane!

There was a swap meet in Mechanicsville earlier this year (March I think). It's hosted by the Hanover RC club. Mechanicsville is NE of Richmond.....
I'm sure its a regular event but might only be annual..
