Painting Monocote
I need some help... I am building a GP Extra 300 .60 size and want to cover it with white moonocote and paint it with Chrome Illusion paint. I am concerned about it staying on the covering. I can scuff the covering to give it some tooth and add flex additive to the paint for some durability but will it hold up? Any suggestions would be a great help. The paint will need a black base coat, 2 thin coats of color and a clear finish coat. If you don't think this is a good idea let me know. I do not want to have to strip the covering and recover in a yr or less. Can you tighten covering that has been painted?
Thanks
Jeff

Painting Monocote
Jeff,
While some paint will stick to monokote, I wouldn't cover a plane I planned to paint with it. Monokote wasn't designed to be painted. There are some other coverings that can be painted but most are fabric type.
Someone else here who paints more than I will know better.
By the way, what part of the state are you from? I live in Augusta and am president of the KVMA.
