Default Fuel soaked firewall

Hello,

Maybe someone with a better memory than mine can tell me what to put on fuel soaked wood to remove or dry out the fuel. I can't remember what I used in the past.

Thanks, Bill

I've used K2R before after a tank ruptured. It worked pretty good. I did have to apply it a bunch of times though. http://www.k2rbrands.com/ Sometimes you can find it at the supermarket

A friend just recovered an old plane that was given to him that was totally oil soaked, the firewall, everything he used spray can brake cleaner it pulled all the oil out and dried it up. Plane is now recovered and ready to go, I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it for myself.

Kitty litter will also pull out the oil. Just dunk the front end in the kitty litter and let it set for 48 hours. Not sure if you can find K2R in CA any more. The last can that I got came from Ace Hardware. Good Luck, Dave

Yes, K2R is still available in CA.
