Default Who is flying from a Military Aux Field, and how has 9/11 effected you?

Our club has been flying from a Naval Aux Field for several years. As of 9/11, we been locked out due to hieghtened security issues. Has anyone else had this problem?. There are 2 clubs in this area that have the same problem. Looking for others who may have been able to solve this problem, or are dealing w/ same problem.
Thanks
Terry

Sorry to hear of your flying site loss. I fly at Ft. Sill, which is an army post. Since the club is a registered activity on the post we got to keep flying. It's a bit of a hassle if you don't have a post sticker on your car, as you're searched each time you come on post. Otherwise it's just wait in line a bit and show your ID. I feel we've been lucky as each facility sets its own rules up to a point. Have you tried discussing the problem with the powers that be? Couldn't hurt.

We've pretty much lost our feild on Macdill AFB in Tampa...most of the regulars joined one of the other local clubs. We've gone to the powers that be, but you have to respect their position...it's not a matter of IF it's gonna happen again...but when.

we couldnt fly last year at our normal farmers field due to foot and mouth, so we looked for other places, we got the RAF base at Protreath, used to be radar hush hush stuff, ok, this is UK not US, but we started to fly AFTER 9/11. as far as i know the flying at the active RNAF Culdrose didnt stop, but they are a club of navy personel & personal guests.
