Paint Scheme Design Help #88
I'm going to be building the Super Sportster from a kit and want to cover/paint it to look simular to the #88 car of Dale Jarrett.
How would I best go about design details?
Anyone willing to help design it?
http://www.dalejarrett.com/car.asp
Thanks,
Scott.

Take the plans and picture of the car to a sign shop that does computer cut graphics in your home town or on the internet. Bill Fulmer of Custom Cut Graphics is very good. They probably have the UPS logo on file and can do transfers of the striping. Very easy to apply and will look great.

Basinbum,
Thanks for the idea. I'll look into the shop for the #88 and UPS design. Do you think a computer cut graphics shop would help with the actual color/design/layout of covering the plane? If not, I'll comeup with something or (more likely) I'll ask for help with the layout from someone who is better at graphics than myself.
Scott.

Yes, you could probably cover the plane in white and they could do everything else in vinyl transfer. Search RCU for application tips and different vendors online that specialize in RC planes, there are lots of them.

Paint Scheme Design Help #88
Know anyone who is plays Nascar racing on the computer?
One of the games I have - has a paint booth type program where you can change the cars - it comes with a lot of the schemes like DJ and others. It's done in paint - it would be a neat way to have a print out right off of the graphics.
If you print em they come out flat - IE it's like a sheetmetal development. The side is attached to the top of the car and then the other side is attached to that - kinda like a "wrap".
Just a thought to get you started.

This is how I cover my CG Ultimate Bi-planes, I am on my fifth one. Ultracote has a coco brown color. The local sign shop cuts the graphics. Now that UPS has changed their logo scheme I will need to update the next plane.

MinnFlyer - That looks great. I need to learn how to 'whip one up' with Photoshop. Hope you don't mind if I e-mail you offline for specifics.
TM3 - Awesome Ultimate! I stopped by a sign shop in Minneapolis and they will cut the 88 and UPS logo's for me. Hope my covering job turns out as nice as yours.
Thanks all,
Scott.
