One thing I hate about some of the sellers on ebay is how they put all kinds of names on thier tital for what they are selling that dosent have anything to do with what they are selling.
"JR Venture Heli OS YS Saito Hirobo Futaba"
"OS AEROPLANE TURBINE MODEL JET SAITO"
"Kangke Staudacher 60 ARF R/C saito os ys cub"
I do a serch for a Saito engine and I have a Hellicopter and a turbo jet come up that have nothing to do with Saito.

The thing about the descriptions I hate on there is when they say Almost new, and when you get it, it is a box of junk that you can't even get one good part from. Have seen it a few times, but you can usually tell from the pictures. Beware if there are no pictures and low seller feedback.

I am an ebay seller for 4 years now, and have well over a thousand deals (I buyand sell).
The type od listing you are describing is against ebay policy, but many do it so that their listings will show up when a search is done.
For instance, if a guy is selling a Webra engine, he may put "not OS Enya Supertigre.." etc etc as so people who are actually looking for these other engines will find HIS listing.
If it bothers you, send an email to ebay, they will take care of the matter I assure you.
One thing that bugs me is that a lot of guys complain about the amount of junk sold there. I would have to say not all of the sellers are selling junk, I have bought a lot of excellent model related items (mainly engines) that were a great deal, and also I dont sell junk either. Just ask many questions, and most importantly ask if the seller has a return policy. I personally dont buy or sell anything "as is" - too hard to commit to buying something if you know you cant return it if it is less than what you had wanted/what it was described as. Also, buying from established sellers is a good thing (usually). Read the feedbacks, and be carefull!
Just some advice...learned from experience.

Boy are you going to love RCU's new auctions which will be unveiled this week! Our searching, browsing, categorization, listing process absolutely leaves ebay in the dust for the category of RC. I'm being serious too...not just hype...to those who have seen the beta they can attest that after we launch there will be little reason to use ebay for RC Auctions ever again. Unless of course you want to pay 2x what you pay here at RCU, use search and browse tools that just don't compare to RCU's, deal with the complexity of listing an auction versus our integrated system plus MUCH more. Every listing in RCU also gets cross-linked for free in related threads in our forums here giving sellers extra free exposure and buyers one click access to a product they are interested in.
Also we have plans that range as low as $20 which give you the ability to post your auctions without an insertion fee all year. Other options which cost a little bit more will let you post without insertion fees PLUS allows for up to 3 auctions per month without even paying a closing fee!
How do we do it? Well...because we are not under pressure from shareholders to grow at 200% every year we don't have to follow certain "rules" or paradigms. Our ultimate goal is to bring buyers and sellers together. We don't have to make a billion dollars in the process of doing that since we are privately held company.
So sit tight and in the next few days (or maybe even tomorrow if all last minute details are complate) you will see the future of RC Discussion forums, classifieds and auctions (and more) I promise. I've listened to members over the last year and this is a culmination of all the suggestions and wonderful ideas that have been catalogued.

Wow, thats sounds great! I'm glad there is going to be a auction page here!
One thing, kill people that have listings like, "Saito 91, not OS YS OSP Enya, gay, porn, nude, sex, toy, gold, jet, hellicopter, gyro, JR, Airanotics, Futaba, Harley"
LOL

You can guarantee that those who do ridiculous listing titles like that will be warned once and removed on a 2nd offense.
Also, we prepopulate the title of all ads and include stock specs (at your option) for listings through the use of a cross link technology to our comprehensive product guide.

Just a question. What about scammers? One of the key selling points of ebay is the scammers. Once they get 3 neg's they are yanked from ebay.
Can we expect the same from RCU?
One thing would make it real hard would be to block members from signing up with free email accounts (hotmail / yahoo) ect. They get banned and they can re-register in 5 minutes...
What do yall think?
