I was researching the ford trimotor plane and came across this drawing of one but noticed something wrong in the drawing, can you guess what it is??? I'll post the answer in a few days if nobody notices it.

One guess would be that it doesn't look like there are any corrugations in the skin in the cockpit area? There should be...almost all the way fwd. to the nose engine.

Another guess might be that in most of the pics I've seen, the exh. stacks come out fwd. into a collector that is on the front of the engine...however, there were several different engines used, so...?

Well, I wasn't even aware that it had a corrugated skin.

I don't think it did, The JU-52 from Germany was also a tri motor that did have corrugated skin, But was a low wing plane. Big hint, look at the radial engines. As for fenders there were many variant of fenders on them and some without. here is one with fenders.

Are you talking about the fairings over the center of the engine(s ) case(s )?

The skin is definitely corrugated...most of it anyway.

Well if you look you can see the collector rings, but no exhaust pipes pointing down ,,Maybe that?

How he is expecting some exact scale engine detail on a video game airplane,,
he notice some minor engine detail and not the fact that half the cockpit windows are missing?

LOL no video games, t's the radial engines. The artist put the cylinders pointing strait down, I had read that in single row radial setups they never do that just like us modelers. I don't have a lot of time right now for the why but I'll get back to it or I'm sure one of the rddial experts will give the details.

Ah ha...you're right!
Number 1 cylinder should always be at 12 o'clock, so none of the lower cylinders on a single row radial would be pointing straight down at 6 o'clock.

to be completely honest I thought it was a poster but I found it on a website on the Tin Goose (AKA Ford tri motor) but it very well might be but non- the less I noticed the engines and that just stood out to me loving radial engines However I've still yet to get one, Little pricey for my modeling budget right now but I'll have one hopefully some day. As for the windshield being half there, That also had a lot of variations, Some had the entire cocpit roof as glass and some like the pic. Heres a few variations

I suspect that the two last photos posted above are not Ford Trimotors at all but one of the two modern constructed Bushmaster 2000's one of which crashed at an airshow in Fullerton California 2004.

You got me curious so I did some more digging and you are correct, It is one of two Bushmaster 2000's (an update of the venerable Ford Tri-motor.) found here http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...26tbs%3Disch:1
