Add to my list. What's the most creative/unique RC vehicles you have seen?
So I was searching the other day for out of the ordinary, unique, unusual, and creative, and impressive RC vehicles. I was absolutely amazed at some of the ones that I've found. But I'm sure there are many more out there that I've never heard of. What's the most interesting few that you guys can think of?
Heres some of the ones I found, I don't remember the links to the pages or videos, but all of them are pretty easy to find on the web and youtube.
1. RC Skydivers. With controllable arms / steering / parachute deploy. You load them into an RC airplane, fly it up, drop them out and they freefall, until you decide to make them deploy their parachute. After that, you are able to steer them to the landing zone.
2. RC surfer dude. He carves up the waves and leans into the turns, looks like a lot of fun.
3. RC flying man. A homemade foamie airplane that is pretty much shaped just like iron man, and looks just like iron man flying through the sky. One youtube video had him equipped with lights and everything
4. RC Forklift, mobile crane, tower crane, bulldozer, etc. A whole line of mini construction equipment, most of them looked like toys rather than hobby grade stuff, but still would be fun to play around with.
5. RC Cyber Surfer. He's basicly a guy riding on a flying hoverboard. This apparently is a walmart toy, but seems to fly better than you'd expect from a toy. It reminds me of green goblin from the spyder man movies.
6. RC Driving/flying car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrxpwbG1yKM . I'm sure there are others too, but I was impressed enough with this one I didn't even look for others. It looks just like a car, tires (and I believe even suspension), looks like it drives real good, yet it can takeoff and be a fully acrobatic flyer. Very cool.
7. Flying lawnmower. Everyone's probably heard of this, but in case you haven't, check it out.
Well that's enough for now, what can you guys add to the list?

Didn't actually get to see this, but it was a 1/2 page item in an old Air Trails mag. There were several photos of the model and the radio system. Gentleman build a 10' long RC model of the Battleship Texas. It not only had several forward and reverse speeds, as well as steering, but the main turrets could rotate to either side, and fire .38 cal blanks. The secondary 5" turrets fired .22 cal banks. Also, had a PA system on it. I may even have seen it on an early TV show, but that would have been around 1953 or 54, when I was not more than 10 yrs old.
This may not sound like much with today's 14 or more channel systems, but, back then, most radios were single channel super regenerative tube type radios. One operating radio at a time at a given location. This modeler built his own radio on either the 27 or 50 MHz bands (back then, it was Megacycles, not MegaHertz) and control system using a telephone dial system and stepper relays. I think the ship weighed over 150 pounds. Could do about 6 knots. No proportional controls common then, although some pioneers were expirementing with a primitive pulse proportional using mechanical pulsers.

Once years ago, a older friend at the field gave me a plane he scratch built. his skills and eyes had faded so he could fly much anymore
It was a completely symmetrical zero/zero/zero incidence airframe,
The fin was the same size/shape above and below the horizontal,, when inverted the only way to tell up from down was the landing gear,,
I installed landing gear on the top and used to take off and land it inverted just for kicks.. good times

Almost forgot I had these. One was a small Rogallo wing ERC. Throttle works normally while the rudder stick tilts the wing for turn. Something called the Agressor, towed up like a kite, and when you're ready, pressing a button on the side of what resembles a car transmitter releases the line at the body of the AC(?) and the thing glides down under control, turning by tilting the cloth kite wing on the rather bulbous body. Then there's the Dragonfly by Flytech, found a couple years ago at Radio Shack and Toys R Us. Its an Ornithoper, an RC flapping wing thingy kind of resembles a dragonfly. And finally, since it's hard to describe, a flying SOMETHING called the Wow Wee. Really infra-red control, but it incorporates a rather primitive proximity sensor for collision avoidance. It does work as long as you aproach obstacles slowly. I'm just going to try to include a photo or three. It's about 12" across. I had a bit of a kick earlier this year flying it in my rather small living and bedrooms.
