I would be leary of a store that accepts only bank wire transfers or western union.
I lost $340.00 US Dollars sending by Western Union a few years ago....I will never do that again. Never received my article from the store and had no recourse to take.

Sites that say "accepting paypal in the near future" or "accept paypal" only to switch it on you at checkout (seen those sites too) are scam sites, pure and simple.

There is no legitimate online site out there that would not accept paypal.  It is the #1 world wide payment method for online transactions.  It may be a pain to deal with sometimes, but if this is truly your bread and butter, you're going to play ball with it.

This especially holds true if the site is based outside the United States and is trying to "sell" to US customers.

Once a wire transfer or Western Union leaves the US border, it is gone, gone, gone and there is no US law enforcement agency out there that can do anything about it.

Don't be suckered by the amazingly low price these sites offer.  They are sirens tempting you to crash into the rocks.

There are more scams going around today. Just remember, if it looks too good to be true, it probably isn't. Too many people get suckered into a "fantastic" deal. Only to send a MO or Cashier's check, or money gram only to lose their money. You mentioned Italy, now I'm not disparaging the Italian people, but Italy was the birth place of the Mafia. I think the mother of all Mafia's now is Nigeria. Just look at all the scams that come out of Nigeria.

Ithink it was very smart of you to do your research before throwing your money at them.

Good for you

Frank
