How do I make my plane produce smoke as an airiel effect

I am building a Jack Stafford B24 Liberator with 4 HP .20 Engines. I would like to be able to make smoke trails at will and I don't know how to do this. Could someone tell me how I can accomplish this. Thank You

Several ways of accomplishing that, ;) although the simplest for small IC engines would likely be simply pumping oil into the exhaust.

Pyrotechnics are possible too, although they can not be turned OFF, they simply burn out.

To get good smoke with small 2 stroke glow engines you will need to preheat the oil before it goes into the muffler. Most smoke mufflers have an internal coil of tubing inside the muffler that the oil flows through before it is released into the exhaust. I have seen brass tubing wrapped around the outside of a stock muffler to preheat the oil with good results. You will also need a smoke "Pump" to move the oil to the muffler.

I've got a couple of puffed up lipos I'll sell ya real cheap ;)

The smoke oil will work, but it has to be really pre heated with the smaller engines. You are going to need to plan the plumbing as you build the plane and have the pump and oil tank somewhere in the fuse. You are also going to need a high capacity battery for the pump. Gonna take some planning, so keep us posted on your progress. Good Luck, Dave

That is a good one, I like that. I have a lipo outside right now that is ballooning. Thanks for the laugh.

Pre-heating the oil is no big deal, an easy task. Just wrap 2-4 coils of brass tubing around the exhaust header as I have done in the pic.
