Hobbyking broke the record

I live in Florida. I ordered 10 servos from HK late Wednesday, November 6. They are here today, Saturday, November 9. A new record for my personal orders, now at 114. Thanks HK. I did pay for priority mail, which was about 80 cents more than regular, and yes, the package was light. BUT, it's here. Personal best for Hong Kong was 8 days, standard shipping. Also had some big box Kong orders take 3-4 weeks during the holidays. The post office gets it right sometimes.

No, I don't work for HK. Wish I did. No, they don't send me free stuff. Wish they did. I wrote this post because the HK detractors need to be told that the reason HK is such a success -- with all the magazines, even some of the smarter LHSs, and most of the guys -- is because they have good stuff, and if you do the research you get great bargains to boot. Latest prizes are the Skipper and the Stinger64 4S.

I saved the post office tracking list but couldn't post it here. The file was 36KB, so I don't know why. --Tony

Somehow I just knew gumby would weigh in on this one.

No matter what anyone says I find it incredulous that any parcel could move through the ordering /shipping process, postal systems from Hong Kong, to New York, clear customs, and make it to Florida in just three days. Sorry but that is just a little too much for anyone with experience ordering from Hong Kong to buy off on.

When I lived in LA I ordered some foam wheel/tires for an onroad car I had, this was a different vendor not HK, they got to me in 3 days,, sent airmail,, I too was amazed.

Well, I don't know how everyone else feels, but he was partly right. The word "broke" was there.

But sorry, I find it hard to believe also.

Sometimes, just sometimes, you can also get a good tasting lemon... LOL

Joke apart, I had never any issues with HK shipping, it's their "lacking" service I don't like.

Cheers. V.

So true but in the OP's case Hobby King had nothing to do with the shipping. I simply find it nearly impossible to believe that a parcel can be sent from Hong Kong, to the USA, go through customs, and routed to it's final destination in two and one half days. I say that because it would take a half day for the vendor to pack and process the parcel even on their best day.

It just doesn't pass the common sense test.

Maybe they just happened to have it in stock in their supposed U.S. warehouse?

ija 11-10-2013 12:44 PM

My last order:
All stuff at HK warehouse, no back order items nor batteries included:

- order and payment done 16th Sept
- in "print queue" until 26th Sept when HK claimed it was eventually shipped
- eventually 10th October it appeared to Singapore speed post tracking
- 6th November "delivered to airline"
-> I still havent received the damn package :(

It was last time for me to trust on HobbyKing.

Sorry guys, I didn't mention it was from the state of Washington. I did say my Hong Kong record was eight days. I saved the tracking from the USPS. I'll send it to you via email if you wish. I'm going to try to post it here again. Hope I can figure it out. --Tony

Looks like you paid for two day shipping and got it in three. It is the USPS afterall. Got to hand it to Hobby King though to process and order in a day from the US warehouse is almost unheard of..

    Tony Iannucelli 11-11-2013 05:17 PM

They mailed the order at 4:17PM on Thursday, in my shop on Saturday at 1 PM. Less than two days in the mail. I didn't expect HK to drop what they were doing Wednesday night to do my order.... post office was closed anyway..... BUT, I paid for "priority" which was only 80 cents more than what used to be called parcel post. HK decided to send it 2-day. Whatever, my point really is -- if you aren't availing yourself of some of their great bargains and great products, you are doing yourself a disservice. Over and out.

    topspin 11-12-2013 10:46 AM

I get great bargains from HURC, BP Hobbies, and a dozen others here in the States that are also priced right and have great service (as opposed to no servce) when you need it.
