Birds in a plane!

1 Attachment(s)
I've been leaving the garage door up and noticed a bird in there a couple times. I wondered where the twigs were coming from. I looked around a couple weeks ago thinking it may be building a nest in my plane rack. The rack didn't have any nest. Today I went to put the Flyin' King on charge and look what was inside! At least it hadn't laid any eggs yet. I guess that's a sign. I haven't been flying the FK enough.

Maybe the momma bird wanted to give them a jump start on flying.

Peace,
J

yup, birds ALWAYS seem to try and build homes inside airplanes, models or full scale. (more so in full scale, as they sit out in the open :) )
birds are incredible creatures, with brains hard wired for flying... but man oh man they won't be applying to Mensa anytime soon. :D

A club member took his sport plane up a couple years ago. It was flying odd at times, but he thought it was the turbulence. He really wrung the plane out, was having a good ol' time.

After he landed and took the wing off, he found blood & guts all over! Turns out a mouse had gotten in and was maybe trapped so couldn't get out. The high G-loads blew it open and spread the guts all around. Quite the mess to clean out. Ewww...,

I originally thought this would be about flying a full-size plane with 500 canarys. If the canarys all took flight at the same time, would the weight change? A conundrum.

:) that was an old Air Force Flight Engineer 'Stump the Dummy' question. :)
(I seem to recall Lindbergh even considered the weight of a fly buzzing around inside the spirit of St Louis)
nope, the aircraft weight does not change.

If the fly or bird is airborne within the aircraft when it crashes will he die? :p That was the problem for the mouse he didn't know when to jump.
