The way to get a sponsor:
Compete and win at the NATs.

This doesn't mean winning once... and you don't have to come in first. A local club member, after several years of competing has placed in the top 20 for a few years in Masters R/C Pattern. he gained the support of Futaba last year after placing within the top 10 in his competition class.

You have to prove you can consistently do well.

Another good way to get a sponsor is to make good friends with one of the sponsored competition pilots, or good friends with someone who is good friends with the pilot. Then you can go with him to some of the competions and help him out on things, like cleaning his heli or running an errand for him.
