Now the govt. is saying that the Iraqies are shipping drones here to the U.S. to spread their chemical and bio. weapons.
This whole thing is getting out of hand. Pretty soon we won't be able to fly our models. DO you suppose the U.S. govt. is monitoring this site?

In WW2 the Japanese used balloon bombs on the US. I believe they landed in Oregon or Washington. Our government never outlawed balloons then so that gives me some hope that our planes are safe now. (Fingers crossed).

I don't think that the U.S. gov. will wipe out an entire industry.

Yeah right

Just look at what they've done to the gun industry. Or better yet, just look at what they've tried in the past, and are trying to do right now. My point is, I wouldn't put anything past our government. Remember, it's "for the children"

ask the model rocket guys that question once! as it stands now, model rocketry is a thing of the past, only fedex is shipping engines, and they are going to stop also very soon. under the patriot act, model rocket engines are explosives, and need a certified person in charge of them 100% of the time during shipment. (in addition to the user needing a ATF explosives license to launch an estes B engine...)

Stop whineing and find a lobbyist that's trying to fix those problems, and sign a petition. Getting bitter about it helps no one.

I think it's in our best interests that we ensure our hobby is seen in a positive light. There are plenty of other dangers out there for people to exploit, and we shouldn't willingly serve ourselves up. We've got a great hobby that teaches all sorts of wonderful skills and character traits, so when someone asks us about it let's make sure we let that be known.

I'll thank all of you in advance for showing the restraint and maturity required to keep this topic non-political and focused on our hobby. :)
