I'm going to be in Ft. Lauderdale all next week on business.
Can anyone tell me about any good hobby shops in the area? I thought I might pick up a thing or two while I'm there.

I'll be staying at SR7 and Commercial.

I have visted that area several times over the past 10 years or so. I can recall just 2 shops in the area. One is small but friendly the other large and less friendly with plenty of planes of all sizes hanging from the ceiling (they also advertise in RCM). I think the smaller shop is called Big Toys and Planes and the large one is RC Hobbies. Sorry I can't be of more help. There are several RC fields worth a visit in that area as well - ask at either shop for directions.

RC Hobbies, out On University, corner of McNab and University. that'll be west of SR7... You'll like it, i've always compared it to a Kmart for us types.

Ditto on RC Hobbies. My dad goes there a lot. They're at 6800 North University Drive, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 33321 And they have a web site. http://www.*********.net

Thanks for the suggestions. It appears that I'm on the same block as RC Hobbies, just opposite corners. I'll be checking them out.
