The AMA website lists South Tx SAM (1836) in Corpus. Call George Klamo at 361-888-9231.
There is also a listing for a club in Portland which is just on the north side of the bay.

Actually, the SAM's, Like the "Gulf Coast Gulls" are locked out of our flying fields due to miltary "Terror Alert" levels. Both clubs use Navy Auxillary fields to fly on. The Portland "Aero's"club is still active I think, but not sure. Most of the "Gulls", some of the SAM's, and even a few of the "Aero's" fly at "Gerber's Aero Squadron" (GAS) in Odem, just northwest of Corpus. He has a beautiful field with a grass runway that manicured like a golf course. Also has a small hobby shop and small RV park. Here's a link to his web site: http://www.gerbersrc.com/index.html
Come on down, I think you will enjoy it. You need to know how to fly in the wind, though.
