Hey,

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the scratches out of this glider? They are from landing on a slope with stiff shrubs.

Buff with Car wax maybe.

I'd hit it with some polishing compounds designed for auto paint.  Something like Meguiar's.  The Opus uses paint rather than gel-coat.

I thought it was gel coat, but the scratches look like they are in paint not gel coat... so I think your right.

I don't know of a single HPglider that uses gel-coat anymore. It's heavier and prone to fracturing.

There is an automotive product that is clear and kind of "rubbery". I don't know how heavy it is or it it might mess with the aerodynamics of the wing tip, but it would help protect from scratches. It is often used on the running board areas of a car to protect from rock chips and such.
