cowl repair
To any one
To start I have an old mold for a cowl for a dragon lady so I layed up a new cowl using polyester risen, and got a nice cowl out of the mold.
my problem is I need to extend it about 3/4 to fit new engine install, So I layed up a 2 inch setion of the atf part of the cowl mold, and again got a nice piece out of the mold, I have now trimmed a 1/2 inch from the cowl and thimmed the add on pice to fit the aft edge of the cowl, with enough lenght to do a final trim when I install it to the bird.
The question is what would be the best way get a ( temp attachment) so I can sand out side of the cowl seam and add 2 layers of 1oz cloth, when that is cured will sand out a strip in side to add reinforcement.
Would thick CA work ? or somethine else, I don't want to use somthing that will prevent an good bond when I add the renforcement
Thanks for any suggestions
