Default Resin melting pink foam?

I made a fuse that somewhat resembles a plyon Q-40 racer and i carved it out of pink foam. Then i tried to fiberglass it because i want to make a plug and mold. However; the resin i used on the fiberglass melted the foam and destroyed my many hours of work. I don't know what kind of resin it is, but any help will be appreciated.
Thanx Rusty

Use epoxy finishing resin instead of polyester resin.

The styrene content in PER and VER resin is the cause. You should try using polyurethane foam. It's much easier to sand and shape and it's compatible with all resins. They sell them in a pourable mix or you can buy them in sheets in various density starting at 2lb

Tito,

Try aircraftspruce.com, they have the 2 gal kit for about $70-$80. This should be enough for you to mess with for a long long time.
